Cooking Style

The ingredients and cooking techniques may vary, but the essence of the dish remains the same – a sweet, fried pancake-like dessert. The basic ingredients for making malpua include flour (wheat or rice), milk, sugar, and sometimes semolina (sooji). The batter is prepared by mixing these ingredients to a thick consistency and then deep-frying spoonfuls of the batter in ghee (clarified butter). Once fried, the malpuas are dipped in sugar syrup or served with rabri (thickened sweetened milk), garnished with dry fruits.
